DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, insurance, and services to perform an elevator modernization project supporting three buildings supporting classroom and faculty office access. The project involves three hydraulic building elevator locations: Music (Bldg. 531), MRL (Bldg. 615), and Hatlen Theater (Bldg. 554). Each building has its own particular limits and scheduling needs. Projects are phased; however, contractor has the option to run multiple crews and will need to submit sequencing for approval. Bids shall be separated for each building scope of work as described in the contract documents. Contract time is based on completion of all elevator modernizations. The project scope shall include, but not limited to, the following:

1. Elevator No. 2 – Music: Replacement of each elevators controller, door operating equipment, pump unit, car and hall fixtures, cab interior remodel, and jack assembly equipment. The project requires unit pricing for hourly and fee rates for demolition of jacks, drilling and waste barrel removal.

2. Elevator No. 1 – MRL: Replacement of each elevators controller, door operating equipment, pump unit, car and hall fixtures, and cab interior remodel.

3. Elevator No. 1 – Freight – Hatlen Theater: Jack assembly equipment. The project requires unit pricing for hourly and fee rates for demolition of jacks, drilling and waste barrel removal.

ESTIMATED CONSTRUCTION COST: $500,000

LICENSE REQUIREMENT: C-11 (Elevator)

No contractor or subcontractor, regardless of tier, may be listed on a Bid for, or engage in the performance of, any portion of this project, unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 and 1771.1.

This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations.
