Description of Work: Provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, insurance and services to renovate graduate student housing apartments located at San Clemente Villages on the UCSB campus. The 3-story student apartments are a mixture of four bedroom, two bedroom, studio, and loft apartment types. The base bid for this project includes 72ea units located in the Donner Village Building. Bid Alternate No. 1, if selected by the University, includes an additional 51ea units located in the Encino Village Building.
The University-issued Construction Documents describe both the baseline work and Alternate No. 1 in greater detail. The project potentially includes approximately 100,000 total assignable square feet, including both the Base Bid and Alternate No. 1. In summary, this interior refurbishment project includes the removal and replacement of flooring, kitchen countertops, toilet and bath accessories, appliances, minor plumbing, plumbing fixtures, light fixtures, light switches, and a complete interior re-paint. The renovation project must commence on July 1, 2019 and shall be completed no later than September 6, 2019. Bid Alternate No. 1, if selected by the University, is to be completed within this same Contract Time and performance period.

No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a Bid for this project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations (“DIR”) pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 [with limited exceptions from this requirement for bid purposes only under Labor Code section 1771.1(a)].
