Description of Work: Henley Hall is a new 49,900 GSF building currently under construction on the University’s main campus, which consists of both wet and dry labs, collaborative break-out spaces, conference rooms, a 124 seat lecture hall, and faculty and administrative offices. Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, insurance, and services necessary and reasonably incidental to complete fabrication, installation and delivery of the Henley Hall Signage, Bldg. 226 project, as specified in the Construction Documents.

Minimum Bidder Qualifications: To be eligible for consideration of award, a bidder must satisfy the minimum bidder qualifications set forth in the Supplementary Instructions to Bidders of the University’s Construction Documents. All Bidders must complete and submit the University-provided Qualification Questionnaire as an attachment to its Bid Form. The Qualification Questionnaire will be available as part of the Construction Documents on the date set forth below. The University’s qualification evaluation is solely for the purpose of determining bidders who are deemed qualified for successful performance of the type of work included in this project. The contract will be awarded to the qualified Bidder submitting the lowest responsive bid. University of California reserves the right to reject any or all responses to Qualification Questionnaires and any or all bids and to waive non-material irregularities in any response or bid received.

Pre-Bid Conference: A mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be conducted BOTH in person AND electronically via Zoom on July 16, 2020 beginning promptly at 1:30 PM. Participants shall meet either:

Meeting attendees may attend the pre-bid conference remotely via Zoom, if desired. A subsequent, in-person job walk may be scheduled with the University Representative, upon request. Further details will be provided to contractors interested in attending the mandatory pre-bid conference via Zoom.

Only bidders who participate in the (virtual or in-person) Pre-bid Conference will be allowed to bid on the Project as a prime bidder. Only attendees as the original Pre-bid Conference will be permitted to schedule a subsequent site visit with the project manager.

The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a Bid for this project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 [with limited exceptions from this requirement for bid purposes only under Labor Code section 1771.1(a)]. The successful Bidder and its Subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Construction Documents and to pay prevailing wage rates at the location of the Work.
