The University Screening Committee has shortlisted the following four firms to take part in the final selection process, including firm interviews:
(1) 4LEAF, Inc. (Newport Beach, CA);
(2) M6 Consulting Inc. (Westlake Village, CA);
(3) TRB and Associates, Inc, (San Ramon, CA); and
(4) True North Compliance Services, Inc (Long Beach, CA).
Description of Work: The University of California, Santa Barbara requests a written response to this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) from qualified professionals interested in providing code consulting services. Statements of Qualifications submittals are hereby solicited by University from qualified professionals and firms with relevant experience and expertise in providing consulting services including but not limited to: architectural plan and specification review; conformance to and compliance with the CBSC; and other consulting services regarding code compliance, on an as-needed basis, as described more fully in Request for Qualifications (“RFQ”) No. FM210019.
Per the California Division of the State Architect (DSA), all University of California construction projects must comply with relevant Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations and California Building Standards Code (CBSC). Within the UCSB Design and Construction Services Department (DCS), the UCSB Campus Building Official (CBO) reviews all University construction projects for compliance with and enforces the requirements of CCR Title 24 Parts 1-12 and its amendments.
The CBO is charged with the task of reviewing construction projects under its jurisdiction for Title 24 compliance, however, the CBO’s scope of review depends upon the type, nature and scope of the project. CBO plan review and construction oversight services focus on new University construction and facility modification projects. The total estimated value for the wide variety of planned construction projects on the University campus over the course of the next five (5) years is in the range of $1 billion. The CBO requires additional assistance and support to manage the anticipated workload associated such a high volume of construction.
SOQ Deadline & Delivery Instructions: Interested firms shall provide EITHER a digital copy (.pdf) of its SOQ submittal, as outlined the RFQ, OR in hard copy format and delivered to the address in the RFQ by 4:00 p.m. on August 4, 2020.
General Proejct Information: While it is anticipated that funding will be obtained, there is no assurance that funds will be received for the anticipated projects. Selection of the consultant will follow the University of California qualifications-based selection procedures. The selection criteria for this project will be detailed in the Request for Qualifications.
