Description of Work: Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, tools, transportation, insurance, and services, and specified materials to renovate an existing racquetball court into three accessible and universal shower/restrooms along with a lactation room. Associated electrical, mechanical, and plumbing included. No change in land use or occupancy use. New mechanical equipment shall be provided with new pads on existing roof. Provide new roof electrical panel and transformer for the additional power required for project, described in the Construction Documents.

Pre-Bid Conference: A mandatory Pre-Bid Conference and mandatory Pre-Bid Job Walk will be conducted BOTH in person AND virtually via Zoom. Meeting attendees may attend the pre-bid conference and job walk remotely via Zoom, if desired. The Zoom meeting will include a virtual job walk presented by the University staff. A subsequent, in-person job walk may be scheduled with the University Representative, upon request. The Construction Documents will included further details for contractors interested in attending the mandatory pre-bid conference via Zoom.
Only bidders who participate in both the Conference and initial (virtual or in-person) Job Walk, will be allowed to bid on the Project as prime bidders. Only attendees as the original job walk will be permitted to schedule a subsequent site visit with the project manager.
Bid Security: Bid Security in the amount of 10% of the Lump Sum Base Bid shall accompany each Bid. The Surety issuing the Bid Bond shall be, on the Bid Deadline, an admitted surety insurer (as defined in California Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120).

The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a Bid for this project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 [with limited exceptions from this requirement for bid purposes only under Labor Code section 1771.1(a)].
The successful Bidder and its Subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Construction Documents and to pay prevailing wage rates at the location of the Work.
