Description of Work: Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, permits, equipment, tools, transportation, and insurance associated with the installation/replacement of 21,700 sf of the existing roofing system with a new roof system at South Hall Building 528, including but not limited to a new single-ply PVC roofing, walking tread (at connection walkways and around penthouse and to equipment) flashing reglet, guardrail at two crossing locations, prefabricated fixed steel ladder with steel cage and ladder guard to access both penthouse rooftops. Replace damaged/eroded louvered panels (fixed and hinged) and panel frames. Paint all louvered panels per paint specification. Work includes the demolition and removal of existing roofing, guardrails, and removal of the window washing embedded eye bolts, as specified in in the Construction Documents.

Estimated Construction Cost: $640,658

Pre-Bid Conference: A mandatory Pre-Bid Conference and mandatory Pre-Bid Job Walk will be conducted BOTH in person AND electronically via Zoom. Meeting attendees may attend the pre-bid conference and job walk remotely via Zoom, if desired. The Zoom meeting will include a virtual job walk presented by the University staff. A subsequent, in-person job walk may be scheduled with the University Representative, upon request. Only bidders who participate in both the Conference and initial (virtual or in-person) Job Walk, will be allowed to bid on the Project as prime bidders. Only attendees as the original job walk will be permitted to schedule a subsequent site visit with the University Representative.

Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a Bid for this project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 [with limited exceptions from this requirement for bid purposes only under Labor Code section 1771.1(a)].

The successful Bidder and its Subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Construction Documents and to pay prevailing wage rates at the location of the Work.
