Description of Work: This work was originally initiated by an awarded contractor in February 2021; however, that contractor was unable to complete the work. The completion contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, insurance, and services to demolitish of existing tile and tile backer, replace with new UL rated water proof system with mortar bed and drain slope, install owner-provided tile, include new tile matching existing as per balance required after demolition. Provide paint, accessories, signage and final finishing of floors, walls and ceilings. Provide light fixtures, trim and receptacle connection as per scheduled. Provide plumbing fixtures, hardware and piping connections for finish. Provide door installation, hardware and panels for door frames. Include final balancing, trim, controls, startup and testing of the HVAC systems. Final fire sprinkler heads for both occupied and interstitial spaces. Provide final fire alarm devices and testing, as described in the Construction Documents.

Pre-Bid Conference: A mandatory Pre-Bid Conference and mandatory Pre-Bid Job Walk will be conducted BOTH in person AND electronically via Zoom. A subsequent, in-person job walk may be scheduled by pre-bid meeting attendees with the University Representative, upon request. Only bidders who participate in both the Conference and initial (virtual or in-person) Job Walk, will be allowed to bid on the Project as prime bidders.

Bid Security: Bid Security in the amount of 10% of the Lump Sum Base Bid shall accompany each Bid. The Surety issuing the Bid Bond shall be, on the Bid Deadline, an admitted surety insurer (as defined in California Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120).

Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a Bid for this project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 [with limited exceptions from this requirement for bid purposes only under Labor Code section 1771.1(a)]. The successful Bidder and its Subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Construction Documents and to pay prevailing wage rates at the location of the Work.
