Description of Work: Provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, insurance, and services to renovate and remodel two (2) existing restrooms within the Events Center Building located on the UCSB main campus. Upgrades to each restroom will include new plumbing fixtures and accessories, light fixtures, exhaust fans with associated duct work, and finishes, as described more fully in the Construction Documents. All existing floor tile will be removed and replaced with new tile.

Pre-Bid Conference: A mandatory Pre-Bid Conference and mandatory Pre-Bid Job Walk will be conducted BOTH in person AND electronically via Zoom. The meeting will include a virtual job walk presented by the University staff. Only bidders who participate in the initial (virtual or in-person) pre-bid conference, will be allowed to bid on the Project as a prime bidder. Only attendees as the original pre-bid conference will be permitted to schedule a subsequent site visit with the University Representative.
Bid Security: Bid Security in the amount of 10% of the Lump Sum Base Bid shall accompany each Bid. The Surety issuing the Bid Bond shall be, on the Bid Deadline, an admitted surety insurer (as defined in California Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120).
General Project Information: The successful Bidder and its Subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Bidding Documents and to pay prevailing wage rates at the location of the Work. Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons shall have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University’s policy. Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a Bid for this project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 [with limited exceptions from this requirement for bid purposes only under Labor Code section 1771.1(a)]. The successful Bidder and its Subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Construction Documents and to pay prevailing wage rates at the location of the Work.
