Description of Work: In accordance with the Construction Documents, Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, insurance, and services to install access controls at (113) doors, at (89) classrooms in (16) buildings on the UCSB Main Campus. Work will include wiring, conduit and parts installation at doors and readers, conduit and wiring back to IDF Rooms, parts and smarts, upgrades to panels or new panels as required, and programming to provide a fully operational system. Existing manual door hardware to be replaced with electrified hardware, as indicated. Contractor to submit Shop Drawings with proposed wiring routing paths, methods, and installation details for University review and approval. Suggestions for alternate installation approaches by the contractor at specific locations will be considered. Project must be completed by June 30, 2024, and Contractor will mobilize multiple, concurrent work crews as needed to meet the schedule requirements.

License Requirement(s): B- (General Building Contractor) AND C-10 (Electrical Contractor)

Bid Security: Bid Security in the amount of 10% of the Lump Sum Base Bid shall accompany each Bid. The Surety issuing the Bid Bond shall be, on the Bid Deadline, an admitted surety insurer (as defined in California Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120).

General Project Information: The successful Bidder and its Subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Bidding Documents and to pay prevailing wage rates at the location of the Work. Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons shall have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University's policy. Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a Bid for this project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 [with limited exceptions from this requirement for bid purposes only under Labor Code section 1771.1(a)].
