NOTE: A prospective consultant must be registered and logged into the planroom to submit its SOQ electronically via the ‘Submit Bid’ tab above AND that SOQ must be submitted prior to the stated deadline.

Background & Introduction: The University of California, Santa Barbara (“UCSB”) requests a written response to this Request for Qualifications (“RFQ”) No. FM240408 from qualified professionals interested in providing a detailed project program, full design services, preparation of bidding documents, construction administration, and an operational feasibility study for the Devereux Environmental Crossroads project.  Design teams or firms with experience designing facilities in higher education, non-profit, think-tank, and conference center facilities are encouraged to respond.  The Devereux Environmental Crossroads project is intended to renovate three (3) existing buildings on the Devereux South Knoll property on the West Campus of UCSB to serve as a venue to foster environmental and climate stewardship and innovation. The venue will connect UC Santa Barbara leaders and students in the fields of environmental stewardship, with business leaders, academics, researchers, non-profit partners, governmental agencies, artists, and community members. The currently scoped project is to create a feasibility study and Detailed Project Program to renovate 19,042 gross square feet.  The concept requires a comprehensive analysis to ensure both programmatic and operational requirements are defined. Consequently, the design team will need to contract with a consultant to explore operational costs to run the center. The project will be designed to comply with the University of California Policy on Sustainable Practices, and must be designed to achieve a minimum of a LEED Gold Rating.

Screening and Selection: The complete RFQ will be available at www.ucsbplanroom.com/rfqs on April 16, 2024.  A shortlist of consultant firms will be determined by a University screening committee, and final consultant evaluations and selection recommendations developed by a University selection committee.

General Project Information.: Candidate firms will be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons shall have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University, regardless of: race; color; religion; sex; age; ancestry; national origin; sexual orientation; physical or mental disability; veteran's status; medical condition; genetic information; marital status; gender identity; pregnancy; service in the uniformed services; or citizenship within the limits imposed by law or University's policy.
