SHORTLISTING - The University's Screening Committee has selected the following firms for further consideration: (1) 4Leaf Services (San Bernardino, CA); (2) M6 Consulting (Moorpark, CA); (3) Collings and Associates (Ventura, CA); and (4) Interwest Consulting Group (Roseville, CA).

Introduction:   The University of California, Santa Barbara (“University”) is hereby requesting response(s) to Request for Qualifications (“RFQ”) No. FM240514 from qualified individuals and/or firms with relevant experience and expertise in providing code consulting services.  Code consulting services will be provided on an as-needed basis and shall include, but not limited to, architectural plan and specification review, conformance to and compliance with the CBSC and other consulting services regarding code compliance, as is more fully described in RFQ No. FM240514.

Project Description: The University shall, at its sole discretion, select and enter into an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity agreement with up to five (5) qualified consulting firms to provide as-needed code consulting services for a one (1) year base period with two (2) separate, single-year options to extend the agreement.  Project services will be awarded to the selected firms based upon their availability, workload, capacity, demonstrated expertise/experience, the relevant scope, scheduling issues, etc.  Selected consultant(s) are not promised any minimum commitment of work by the University.  Selection of the consultant(s) will follow the University of California qualifications-based selection procedures, and the selection criteria for this project will be detailed in the RFQ documents.

Within the UCSB Design and Construction Services Department, the Campus Building Official (CBO) reviews all University construction projects for compliance with and enforcement of the various requirements set forth in CCR Title 24 Parts 1-12 and its amendments.  CBO plan review and construction oversight services generally focuses on new University construction and facility modification projects. The total estimated value for the wide variety of planned construction projects on the University campus over the course of the next five calendar years is in the range of $2 billion.  The CBO requires additional assistance and support to manage the anticipated workload associated with such a high volume of construction.

Equal Opportunity Statement: Each candidate firm will be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons shall have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University, regardless of: race; color; religion; sex; age; ancestry; national origin; sexual orientation; physical or mental disability; veteran's status; medical condition; genetic information; marital status; gender identity; pregnancy; service in the uniformed services; or citizenship within the limits imposed by law or University's policy.
