Introduction:   The University of California, Santa Barbara (“University”) is hereby requesting response(s) to Request for Qualifications (“RFQ”) No. FM240517 from qualified individuals and/or firms with relevant experience and expertise in providing laboratory design services. Design-related services will be provided on an as-needed basis and shall include, but not limited to, providing laboratory design services including programming, conceptual design services, preparation of bidding including bridging documents and performance specifications for Design-Build projects, cost estimating, construction administration, and construction support services, as is more fully described in RFQ No. FM240517.

Project Description: The University will be selecting multiple design firms/professionals to provide As-needed Laboratory Design Services for various University capital improvement projects for a one-year base term with two additional one-year options to extend the agreement(s). The estimated value for these projects ranges from $200,000 to $2,000,000; however, the University does not guarantee any minimum commitment of work to the selected consultant(s). The University may, at its sole discretion, select and enter into indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity agreements with up to five qualified consultants. Project services will be awarded to the selected consultants based on availability, demonstrated technical lab design expertise and experience, including the design and delivery of clean rooms, efficiency, workload capacity, proven record of collaboration and responsiveness of the consultant and sub-consultants, relevant scope and the coordination and resolution of schedule requirements and project constraints.

Equal Opportunity Statement: Each candidate firm will be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy.
