Description of Work: Contractor to supply labor and materials to install approximately 500 sq. ft. of 5/8” type X drywall and R‐19 insulation per plans, tape, texture, and paint to match. Rebuild damaged cabinetry per plans to match existing. Provide and install one (1) new stove (GE ‐ model JB258DM2WW or similar), one (1) new microwave (GE ‐ model JVM3160DFWW or similar), one (1) surface mounted circular bowl‐style light with white acrylic lens; 14” in diameter. Furnish and install one (1) hood exhaust duct, new 4” rubber base board to match existing (approx. 100 lf.) in areas where needed. Provide and install new flexible metal wire conduit behind cabinetry and inspect electrical connections and wires to stove, microwave, and kitchen light. Protect area and furnishings in the apartment from dust, damage and debris.

Pre-Bid Meeting: A mandatory IN PERSON ONLY Pre-Bid Conference and Pre-Bid Job Walk will be conducted by University staff on October 9, 2025 beginning promptly at 1:30 PM. Participants shall meet at the location described in the bid Advertisement and Construction Documents. Only bidders who participate in the pre-bid conference will be allowed to bid on the Project as a prime bidder. Only attendees at the original pre-bid conference will be permitted to schedule a subsequent site visit with the University Representative.
Bid Security: Bid Security in the amount of 10% of the Lump Sum Base Bid shall accompany each Bid. The Surety issuing the Bid Bond shall be, on the Bid Deadline, an admitted surety insurer (as defined in California Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120).
General Project Information: The successful Bidder and its Subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Bidding Documents and to pay prevailing wage rates at the location of the Work. Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons shall have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University's policy. Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a Bid for this project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 [with limited exceptions from this requirement for bid purposes only under Labor Code section 1771.1(a)].
