Background and Introduction: The University of California, Santa Barbara (“University”) requests a written response to Request for Qualifications (“RFQ”) No. FM250418 from design professionals and firms with relevant experience and expertise in providing the services described herein. The selected consultant will provide design services associated with the Theater Dance East Plaza Improvements, Bldg. 554 project (“Project”), as more fully described in this RFQ No. FM260119. The Project includes the renovation of the main entry plaza at the Theater & Dance East building at the University of California, Santa Barbara. The plaza is approximately 14,000 square feet primarily consisting of concrete flatwork with a few landscape beds containing trees and minimal planting. The Project includes new landscaping and site amenities, concrete flatwork modifications, lighting upgrades, new furnishings and Path of Travel improvements.

Estimated Construction Cost: The overall construction budget is approximately $2,000,000.

Scope of Services: The professional scope of services for this project will include architectural and engineering design of the project, including cost estimating, code analysis, value engineering, project scheduling, and coordination with Campus personnel and other stakeholders, culminating in completed construction documents issued for competitive bids. Construction phase services will include submittal reviews and field representation.

General Project Information:  A shortlist of firms will be determined by a University screening committee, and final consultant evaluations and selection recommendations developed by a University selection committee.
