Description of Work:  Provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, insurance, for the construction of an HVAC system upgrade, including but not limited to: HVAC equipment, selective demolition, new air handling unit and associated ductwork, new hot water boiler, and TAB and commissioning services, as described in the Construction Documents.  Existing Johnson Controls POC shall remain in place.

Estimated Construction Cost: $350,000

Pre-Bid Conference:  A mandatory IN-PERSON ONLY Pre-Bid Conference and Job Walk will be conducted by University staff on January 20, 2026 beginning promptly at 1:30PM.  Participants shall meet at the following address:

In person attendees are advised that there may be traffic congestion and parking may be difficult.  Bidders should allow ample time to drive to the above location in heavy traffic, find a parking space, walk to the building, and arrive in the designated meeting room prior to the required time.  Any prospective Bidder arriving after the above designated starting time may be disqualified from submitting a bid for this project.  Only attendees at the original pre-bid conference will be permitted to schedule a subsequent site visit with the University Representative.

Bid Security: Bid Security in the amount of 10% of the Lump Sum Base Bid shall accompany each Bid.  The Surety issuing the Bid Bond shall be, on the Bid Deadline, an admitted surety insurer (as defined in California Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120).

General Project Information: Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons shall have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University's policy. Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code.  No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a Bid for this project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 [with limited exceptions from this requirement for bid purposes only under Labor Code section 1771.1(a)].  The successful Bidder and its Subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Construction Documents and to pay prevailing wage rates at the location of the Work.
